“K.B. Ceramics is a one woman, queer owned business creating hand thrown ceramic home goods for everyday rituals. All of my work is hand thrown in small batches which allows each piece to have its own personality and character. The simple color glazes that I use highlight the quality of each piece and showcase the forms themselves. I feel that allowing each item to be unique is what sets my work apart. I have spent the last 18 years honing my throwing skills, and my focus is on creating pieces that are well balanced and are inviting to use. My hope is to inspire people to take moments from their busy lives and enjoy the small things we do each day. Everyday rituals, such as savoring a cup of coffee in a favorite mug, can bring pause and refocus to an otherwise fast paced existence. I have always been a creative person and have been finding creative outlets in one form or another my whole life. Creating functional ceramics stems from a love of food and a desire to make and share meals with friends and family. To me, seeing a homemade meal enjoyed by my loved ones in an array of my work is one of the most satisfying and fulfilling things.”
