“My work is inspired by the contrasts I often experience within myself and in this beautiful, bleeding heart of a world- tough and tender, dark and delicate, ephemeral and enduring. I aim to hold and portray these different truths at once, with barbed wire and dried flowers, and with big relief prints of the images I’ve carved into wood. Every step in my process engages a different part of my own nature as an artist and farmer, and is very much in tune with the seasons- starting seeds each spring and harvesting into the fall, carving new woodcuts in the cold and cozier months to print throughout the year.”
